[QUOTE="Shamiso, post: 83741, member: 160"] Shoegaze hipsters finally get a win with this legendary reissue. Rocketship plans on repressing their cult classic debut album, A Certain Smile A Certain Sadness, via Slumberland Records to mark three decades of existence. Collectors know this record has remained out of print forever, which made owning a physical copy nearly impossible until this upcoming release drops in March. The band also scheduled a quick run of West Coast shows to support the vinyl drop. These gigs mark their first live appearances in eight years. Stops include The Chapel in San Francisco and The Starlet Room in Sacramento before hitting The Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles. They finish up north at The Sunset Tavern in Seattle and Mississippi Studios in Portland. This record sits perfectly between Tiger Trap style twee pop and the droning electronica of Stereolab while adding heavy Slowdive energy. While the group released scattered tracks over the years, nothing really hits quite like this initial collection. Fans often cite tracks like I Love You Like The Way That I Used To Do as absolute peak nineties indie listening.
