[QUOTE="Nehanda, post: 24467, member: 2262"] US Leaders Take Strong Stand Against South Africa. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said he will not join the G20 meeting in Johannesburg, South Africa. He shared his views on Thursday morning. Rubio pointed to what he calls South Africa's wrong acts. These include taking private land from owners and backing plans for equal rights and environmental care. "I will not attend the G20 summit in Johannesburg. South Africa is doing very bad things. Taking private property. Using G20 to push for unity, fairness, and earth care," Rubio said. He stated that his work aims to put America first. He added that he must save public money and not back people who oppose America. The G20 brings together 19 lands, the European Union and the African Union, to talk about world matters. This news comes after US President Donald Trump said he would stop giving money to South Africa. Trump claims the nation takes land and treats some groups poorly. "South Africa takes land and treats some groups very badly. Left-wing news won't talk about it. We can all see these clear wrongs against human rights," Trump wrote on Truth Social. "The United States will act. I will stop all future help to South Africa until we check what is going on there," he added. Trump later told news people that South African leaders do "awful things." "We are looking into this. We want to know what South Africa does. They take land and might do even worse things," he said. Last month, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa passed a new law. It allows the state to take land without paying in some cases. Land rights remain a big issue in South Africa. White people still own most farms there, 30 years after the end of unfair race laws.
