RuneScape Dragonwilds Surprise Launch Hits Early Access

Jagex surprised players today by releasing RuneScape: Dragonwilds on Steam Early Access without warning. The open-world survival crafting game costs USD 29.99 or GBP 24.99. Players seem happy with the game so far, giving it a 79% positive review score. Executive Producer Jesse America said they wanted to offer fans a new type of RuneScape adventure that sparks creativity, passion, and love for quests.

The company plans many updates during Early Access. They will improve combat, performance, multiplayer features, difficulty settings, weather systems, and tutorials. Players can expect new magic and farming skills alongside fresh quests, equipment, and music. Jagex will add additional enemies called lesser dragons and expand base-building options. Two game modes - Hardcore and Creative - will be added later.

A new region named Fellhollow waits on the horizon. This area exists between life and death under the rule of Imaru, a twisted dragon. Undead creatures roam throughout this territory. The character Death, familiar to longtime RuneScape fans, guides players into this mysterious realm. Jagex promises to listen closely to community feedback as development continues.
