Ruto spills on why Gachagua got canned

President Ruto discussed why his former deputy lost his job. He said problems started right after they took office. Gachagua fought with blogger Dennis Itumbi and some lawmakers, like Ndindi Nyoro and Kimani Ichung'wah. Ruto asked him why he picked these small fights with his team members.

The President explained that Gachagua threatened lawmakers who refused to follow his orders. These same lawmakers decided to act first by voting him out. Ruto claimed he never personally pushed for Gachagua's removal. He said the process followed all legal rules. Those who removed Gachagua did everything correctly.

Ruto shared that Gachagua wanted 10 billion Kenyan shillings to build support for him in Mt. Kenya areas. Gachagua reportedly warned he could make Ruto serve just one term unless he paid up. Ruto refused the demand completely. He said if serving one term happens because of that choice, he accepts it.

The President plans to visit nine counties starting Tuesday. He brushed off worries about political tensions during his trip. He wants to show voters what his team has done since taking power. Ruto talked about roads he built near where Gachagua lives when critics said he did nothing for the region. He feels confident about his long relationship with people from Mt. Kenya.
