Ruto Warns Critics, Touts Unity on Western Kenya Tour. President William Ruto has a strong message for his critics: They should prepare for an intense campaign in 2027. Some have accused Ruto of starting to campaign too soon. He has been traveling in Western Kenya this week. The President has launched projects and called for national unity. "People are saying I have already begun to campaign," Ruto said on Friday. "They have not seen anything yet. When the real campaign starts, they will run." Ruto announced a big bonus for sugarcane farmers in Mumias on Tuesday. He gave them 150 million shillings. But not everyone is happy. They say Ruto is not doing enough for Kenyans. They say he is focused on campaigning instead of working. Opposition leader Kalonzo Musyoka spoke out against Ruto on Wednesday. He accused the President of holding campaign events pretending to promote unity. "Ruto needs to stop traveling to campaign," Musyoka said. "The people trusted him to lead. But he is not up to the job. He should be voted out in 2027." Many top leaders joined Ruto on his Western Kenya trip. They say it will be very hard to defeat him in the next election. Ruto has support from all sides. "Ruto has a broad backing," said CS Wycliffe Oparanya. "It is not just politics. Real development is happening." Ruto also repeated his criticism of former deputy Rigathi Gachagua. He said Gachagua could not lead because he played divisive politics. The President promised to keep working to bring Kenyans together. He has teamed up with opposition leader Raila Odinga in this effort. "We must end divisive politics, hatred and discrimination," Ruto said. "Those who oppose a united Kenya will have no place in this nation."
