Acting on a tip, detectives arrested Makamelo in Jacha, Epworth, on April 25. He confessed and named Madzima as an accomplice. Police fired warning shots when Madzima tried to escape. The arrests led to the recovery of three batteries, later identified by Econet staff.

The suspects guided officers to Moyo, who was arrested at his home. All three men remain in custody awaiting trial.
