Rwanda Slams Congo's Fake News Over Captured Soldier Claims

Rwanda Denies Congo's Claims About Captured Soldier.

Rwanda shot back at Congo this week. A top leader said Congo made up stories about catching a Rwandan soldier.

Congo's army showed off a man they caught. They said he came from Rwanda's army to help rebels. But Rwanda's Foreign Minister called this fake news.

"Congo's army can't fight well. They can't even lie well," said Olivier Nduhungirehe on X. He found big holes in the soldier's story.

The minister said the man misunderstood basic facts about Rwanda. He named places that don't exist there. Real Rwandans know their land has different names for its regions.

This isn't the first time Congo has claimed to have captured Rwandan troops. Last winter, they showed another man. But his story fell apart fast when people looked closer.

The fight goes deeper than just one soldier. Congo thinks Rwanda helps rebel fighters called M23, who cause trouble in eastern Congo.

Rwanda fires back with its claims. It says Congo keeps bad people who once hurt Rwanda. These folks helped kill many Rwandan people back in 1994.

Paul Kagame, who runs Rwanda, thinks Congo's leader wants to knock him down. He says Felix Tshisekedi works with hired guns to make trouble.

Congo's army won't back down. They say they'll keep fighting hard against all armed groups near their land.

Both sides dig in deeper each day, blaming the other for the mess. Peace seems far away as the two nations trade angry words across their shared border.
