Brigadier Tsakani Gladys Mtileni added that protecting regular people forms the basic foundation of all peacekeeping work. These graduates feel ready to apply their new knowledge when called to serve. The graduation happens as SADC leaders work to solve the crisis in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Fighting there has killed many people and forced thousands to leave their homes. The training aims to prepare leaders who can help restore peace when conflicts arise anywhere in southern Africa.
