Sapphire plans to jump back into making tiny computers for everyday folks, according to what ComputerBase found during the Embedded World 2025 event. Sapphire showed early versions of small machines they call Edge AI mini-PCs. These little powerhouses run on brand-new AMD Ryzen AI 300 chips. The company created two main versions - the Edge AI 340 comes with a Ryzen AI 5 340 brain and 16 GB memory, and the Edge AI 350 packs a stronger Ryzen AI 7 350 processor with 32 GB memory. Both machines support fast 5,600 MT/s speeds through two memory slots. Sapphire also plans an even faster model using the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 chip. These computers measure just 117 × 111 × 30 millimeters - about the size of your hand! The power brick sits outside the case. Despite being tiny, these machines offer plenty of connection options. You'll find two HDMI 2.1 ports for monitors, two USB4.0 ports for fast data transfer, 2.5 GbE internet, Wi-Fi plus Bluetooth, and two extra USB ports. Storage options include a standard 2280 M.2 slot for big SSDs and another smaller 2242 slot for extra space. The case opens without any screwdrivers, thanks to magnetic covers. This makes changing memory or storage super easy. Sapphire promises these mini-PCs will reach stores around the world by late April. The company hasn't announced prices yet. Some areas might see different configurations or basic models without memory and storage included. These empty shells let buyers add their chosen parts. The magnetic case design helps everyone access the inside parts easily, whether upgrading memory or adding bigger storage drives. This thoughtful touch makes these little computers more user-friendly than many competing products. AMD Ryzen AI processors give these tiny machines serious computing muscle. The processors handle regular tasks plus artificial intelligence workloads that need special processing power. Despite measuring smaller than most books, these computers deliver performance previously found only in much larger systems. The combination of powerful chips, fast memory, and plenty of connection options makes these Edge AI mini-PCs suitable for many different uses. From office work to creative projects to educational settings, these compact machines offer flexibility beyond their small size.
