These religious differences have made the two nations fight each other across Syria and Yemen for years. Saudi Arabia and Iran cut off all diplomatic contact back in 2016 but China helped them restore relations last year. Prince Mohammed has worked hard to make peace with his neighbors instead of fighting them.
