People came together at Holy Trinity Church in Kileleshwa on Friday to mourn Elvis Murakana Namenya, son of Dagoretti North MP Beatrice Elachi. Family members, close friends, and government officials said goodbye to the young man. Everyone remembered him as kind, giving, and hard-working before he died in a car crash on March 25, 2025. Elvis almost finished his studies at Africa Nazarene University. He planned to graduate this June with his classmates. His sudden passing caused deep sadness among everyone who knew him. During the church service, his mother thanked everyone for their prayers and support after she lost her son. Elachi spoke about faith during her speech. She asked young people to pray for safety each day. She talked through tears about learning from her loss. The grieving mother urged young adults to tell their parents where they go. Parliament Majority Whip Sylvanus Osoro stood next to Elachi at the service. He called her his mother figure and promised long-term help. Osoro said parents should never have to bury their children. Senate Deputy Minority Whip Edwin Sifuna shared messages from both the ODM Party and Senate members. Eve Obara led the funeral planning group and thanked the medical staff who tried saving Elvis. Many leaders attended the memorial. Deputy Minority Whip Mark Mwenje came with John Kiarie from Dagoretti South. Irene Mayaka, Fatuma Mohammed, and many other National Assembly and Senate members paid respects. Jeremiah Nyegenye, the Senate Clerk, joined former Parliament members at the church service. The family will bury Elvis on Saturday, March 29, 2025. The funeral will be held in Nalepo Village, located in Kajiado County. His passing leaves behind many broken hearts. Everyone hopes he finds eternal peace after his short but meaningful life.
