Vanhu vakoora kana kurorwa kazhinji kacho they are often given more respect in society whether it's in the local community, church environment, kubasa, etc.

Why is it like that? Because from my own perspective it's not like vanhu vose vari single lack any accomplishments in their lives though.

Marital status (kurorwa) especially in African culture mostly affects vanhu kadzi.

Varume can be bachelors for years but they won't experience the same amount of societal pressure to settle down from their parents or extended family members e.g. aunts (vanatete).

MuChivanhu you receive an extra level of respect once you get married, even more after you have gotten some kids as your offspring.

Because then you will be seen as being more responsible which of course is a result of cultural influence or perhaps let's just say a stereotypical notion people have.

Are you saying a single man or woman can’t be responsible?

Most people equate marriage as one of the highest achievements one can ever do in their life and that is what shapes the mind frames of those people. Hence, the rest is self-explanatory.

I personally think marriage isn't an achievement, it's more finding someone that you love, that loves you and wants to spend their life with you also. Most human beings need and want companionship.

Above all, everyone must also learn to create their own happiness if not you will keep idiots around you just to fill in spaces in your life.

But y’all only respect a man when he is getting money, why attach money to respect?

You are derailing the thread.

The entire point is to respect everyone, not because of marital status. It isn’t the same in Zim and you know it. Single people are not well respected because of that backward thinking that they are not responsible or they have loose morals.

People will comport themselves well when they realize you are married or about to get married.
