Fans packed the Kampala Serena Hotel for the first dfcu Jazz Festival last Saturday night. Grammy winner Kirk Whalum played alongside Ugandan star Isaiah Katumwa at the event. Isaiah Katumwa returned from America to perform at this special concert. He played his popular song My Joy as fans moved to the beat. Katumwa will soon mark 30 years making jazz music. Whalum ended the night with gospel sounds just before midnight. Both musicians thanked DFCU Bank for creating this new festival.

Guests dressed up for this fancy music celebration. The bank plans to bring the festival back next year. Charles Mudiwa from dfcu said music connects people with joy. The festival will become a regular event for Uganda each year. Music lovers already look forward to seeing who performs in 2026.
