A horrifying pileup wiped out multiple lives in a crush of metal. A trailer and a minibus collided head-on in Kikopey near Gilgil, killing seven people. The larger vehicle reportedly swerved out of its lane before smashing into the matatu. The impact forced the smaller bus off the road, with the trailer ending up on top of it. The minibus was completely crushed in the wreckage. Several other passengers survived with injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. This crash follows another deadly incident on the Nairobi-Nakuru highway at the Karai area near Naivasha. That collision involved a Greenline bus and a minibus from Nanyuki Cabs Sacco, killing nine people. Two children were among the deceased. The Kenya Red Cross assisted with the response, moving injured passengers to Naivasha District Hospital. In a separate incident, a bus belonging to Guardian Angel Coach Limited overturned at Kimende along the same highway. That crash injured at least ten students who were being transported to school. Bystanders jumped in to help the injured students at the scene.
