The police watchdog group IPOA is looking into a fight that took place on Friday along a highway between Narok and Nairobi. The fight left some people hurt and others dead.
IPOA sent a team to investigate immediately. They want to ensure that any police who break the law are held accountable.
IPOA asked local leaders and the government to work together to prevent accidents between cars and animals from happening frequently in that area.
IPOA also wants everyone to stay calm while they investigate what took place. They said anyone who knows something about the fight should contact their office or call them.
IPOA shared their sadness for those who died. They hope the people who got hurt get better soon.
The fight started when a car hit and killed 25 sheep near Duka Moja Trading Centre in Narok County. The shepherds were moving the sheep across the road. The car sped off after it hit them.
The people who live nearby got very upset. They blocked the highway and said they wanted 3 million shillings to pay for the sheep that died.
The police came to clear the road. But then a big fight broke out between the police and the people protesting. The police used guns and tear gas.
Many people got hurt in the fight. This included nine police officers. Two people were shot and died.
The police said two of their badly hurt officers had to be flown to Nairobi for more care. A sword cut off one officer's hand. The protesters also damaged some police stations and vehicles.
A gun was taken from one of the hurt officers. It was found later, but the bullets were missing.
