Frank Agyemang is a new player for Dynamos, a soccer team in Zimbabwe. He is from Ghana. He usually spends Christmas in his hometown of Effiduase Oyoko. But this past Christmas was different.
Agyemang was about to sign with Dynamos. He stayed in Warren Park 1, a busy neighborhood in Zimbabwe. It was very quiet during the holidays, and most people had left to visit family.
Agyemang felt lonely. He did not know anyone, and he was afraid to go back to Ghana. He thought he might miss his chance to sign with Dynamos.
"It was a painful day for me," Agyemang said. "I didn't know anyone. I was alone."
Agyemang decided to train. He went to a local soccer field and practiced all day, doing drills and exercises until he was very tired. Then he went home to sleep.
The next few days were hard. But Agyemang's manager helped him feel better.
Agyemang is excited to play for Dynamos. He had a chance to play in Turkey. But that did not work out.
Agyemang was training with a team in Ghana called Kairos FC. He did not know they registered him as a player. This almost stopped his move to Dynamos. But it is all fixed now.
"Dynamos is a big club," Agyemang said. "I am happy to be part of it. I am a striker. I want to score goals. I can't wait for the season to start."
Dynamos' coach is impressed with Agyemang. He thinks Agyemang will help the team a lot.
Dynamos hopes Agyemang does well. They want to win in Zimbabwe and Africa. They are playing in the CAF Confederation Cup.
