His military training took place at camps in Mozambique, where he became a strong fighter.

He started working in intelligence on November 17, 1980, with his first post in Gweru. Throughout his career, he worked in many places across Zimbabwe. He survived a bad car accident that cost him an arm but kept serving his nation. He reached the top position of director of Counterintelligence in July 2022 before retiring earlier this year.
