Brown caved and made a deal to get the funding back, but that pissed off a bunch of students and faculty who thought the university was rolling over for the administration.

The whole divestment thing from companies tied to Israeli military operations got shot down by the board, even though some Jewish students were pushing for it. Brown later put out some statement saying they are staying out of global conflicts and just sticking to education stuff.
