The first filming schedule for Vetrimaaran's action movie Arasan, starring Silambarasan, has finished in Kovilpatti. Vetrimaaran has clarified that this film is not a direct sequel to Vada Chennai, but exists within that same world. Shooting is set to resume early next year.
