Austin developers had created Prey and later worked on Redfall before the vampire game failed commercially. Microsoft fired all Austin employees after poor sales disappointed company executives and gaming critics alike.

Epic started their mega sale promotion on May 15th and distributed nine games to players across several weeks. Dead Island 2, Sifu, Gigapocalypse, Happy Game, and Deliver at All Costs appeared earlier during the promotion period. The company will return to giving away single games each week after the sale concludes. Players must claim their free copies before deadlines expire or miss out on permanent ownership.
