Parliament Leader Gives Churches New Roofs.
The leader of Uganda's Parliament, Mrs. Anita Among, helped make churches better by giving them 1,000 new iron sheets for their roofs. She brought these gifts to a special church area called Malera after the church leaders asked her for help.
Five churches will have new roofs because of Mrs. Among's kindness. The biggest church, St. John's Kamailuk, received 300 iron sheets. The other churches, Tokor, Koreng Center, Apopong, and Apuuton, each received their share to fix their roofs.
Many important people came to see the iron sheets being given away. Mr. Wilberforce Tukei, who helps run the area, and Ms. Ziporah Akol, who works closely with Mrs. Among, were there to make sure everything went well.
The church leaders had visited Mrs. Among at Parliament earlier to tell her about their needs. She promised to help them, and she kept her promise by bringing all these iron sheets. The people who came to the churches felt very happy because their buildings would look much better with new roofs.
Mrs. Among said she wants to keep helping people make their buildings better. Everyone who came celebrated and thanked her for being kind. They were glad she cared about making their churches nice places to pray.
