St. Petersburg approved plans for a new railway line to the Metallostroy industrial zone from Izhora station. The governor met with city officials today about this project. A company called A GRUPP SMC No. 1 SPB will build a transport center with a metal production plant there. The railway will be more than 1.6 kilometers long. This project will bring about 2 billion rubles in investment and create 200 new jobs.
Governor Alexander Beglov called it a promising high-tech project. He said the factory needs good routes for materials coming in. Metallostroy ranks as one of the fastest-growing industrial areas in the city. Many power engineering companies already operate there. The zone houses metalworking businesses as well.
Officials also approved a new street in the Vyborg district today. It replaces a small road between Beloostrovskaya and Kantemirovskaya streets, helping to fix traffic problems near Academician Klimov Square. The new street measures just 280 meters but redirects cars around busy intersections. Beglov ordered workers to make sure the road meets all standards for industrial zones.
