[QUOTE="Munyaradzi Mafaro, post: 47922, member: 636"] Prosecutors want to keep computer expert Kelvin Mutisya Mutava locked up for five more days. They claim he took money to mess with security camera videos from Albert Ojwang's death case. The government paid him 3,000 shillings to delete important footage that shows what happened at Nairobi Central Police Station. Mutava appeared at Kahawa Law Courts alongside another suspect's lawyer. Officials filed fresh papers on July 1 asking for more time to finish their investigation. Magistrate Gideon Kiega Oenga heard the request during Tuesday's court session. State lawyer Gichuhi told the judge they need extra days to complete their work on the case. The court ordered all parties to respond to the application before making any decisions. Defense teams must prepare their arguments against keeping Mutava behind bars longer. Court officials will review everyone's responses before the next hearing. Prosecutors also asked the judge to drop charges against Bryan Mwaniki Njue. His lawyer confirmed that Njue already faces murder charges at Kibera Law Courts for the same incident. Six police officers and civilians were charged last month with killing Albert Ojwang during his detention. Station commander Samson Kiprotich Talaam leads the list of suspects facing murder accusations. The main case continues at Kibera court where all defendants will fight the serious allegations.
