Court Grants Bail to Suspects in Nsoatreman FC Supporter's Murder Case. Sunyani, Ghana - The Sunyani District Court 'B' granted bail to two suspects in the murder case of Francis Frimpong, a Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC supporter. The incident occurred during a Ghana Premier League match on February 2, 2025. Judge Eric Daning set the bail at GHC500,000 with three sureties each for Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, 58, former Employment and Labour Relations Minister, and Joseph Keyermeh, 32. One surety must be justified for each suspect. The court ordered the suspects to submit their passports and seek permission before leaving Sunyani. They must report to the police daily until their next court appearance on February 17, 2025. Baffour-Awuah, owner of Nsoatreman FC, and Kyeremeh face charges of "abetment to commit a crime, to wit murder" under the Criminal Offenses Act 1960. A third suspect, police inspector Agyemang Duah, was charged with murder and remanded into custody. Prosecutor Inspector Alexander Oppong said the suspects were involved in Frimpong's murder. A search of suspect Owusu's room revealed blood-stained dresses and a pistol with ammunition. Defense counsel Moses Obah argued for bail, citing the suspects' prominence and willingness to cooperate with investigations. The Ghana Police Service arrested the suspects after violent disturbances at the Nsoatre Professor Amoah Koromansah II stadium led to Frimpong's death.
