Alright, man. Here we go again. A suspect just appeared in a Pretoria court for that mass shooting at a shebeen in Saulsville Hostel, Atteridgeville. The guy is thirty-two years old, facing twelve murder charges and thirteen counts of attempted murder. The attack a few weeks back killed twelve people, which included three small children, and wounded thirteen others. Police apparently tracked this dude down and found a Taurus pistol, some ammo, and a balaclava when they grabbed him. No one applied for bail during this first appearance, so he's staying locked up while the investigation continues. Authorities are suggesting more arrests might happen, as they think there were at least two other shooters involved in the attack. The shebeen's owner is also facing charges for operating the unlicensed spot where this all went down. This whole thing is part of a seriously grim pattern lately. There was another shooting in Bekkersdal just recently, where nine people died, and another attack earlier in the month with a higher death toll. It paints a pretty dark picture of gun violence targeting these crowded social spots. Community members and some officials are pointing fingers at illegal firearms and these unsupervised venues as a major part of the problem. For now, the court process is just starting, and a lot of people in that community are waiting to see if anyone else gets charged.
