Zimbabwe businessman Kudakwashe Tagwirei plans to jump into politics. Zanu PF party leaders in Masvingo asked higher officials to put him on their Central Committee. This move could totally change how local politics works. They also want former lawmaker Josiah Sithole to join the team. Robson Mavhenyengwa runs the Zanu PF group in Masvingo. He talked to TellZim News about their big request. He believes both men can make the party better. The local guys must wait for the national chiefs to say yes. People say Secretary General Obert Mpofu already likes the idea but needs to ask Chairperson Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri first. Tagwirei grew up in Gutu and became rich through his business smarts. He gives away lots of cash to help struggling towns around Masvingo. He also pays for many projects at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, including money for new churches and campus upgrades at Solusi University. The Seventh-day Adventist Church honored his good deeds with their Global Award of Excellence in March 2025. He became the first Black person to win this award. They picked him because he helps schools and poor communities through his charity, the Bridging Gaps Foundation. Many people across Zimbabwe are excited about what's next. They wonder how his business brain and big heart might change the party. The coming weeks matter as top leaders decide about his new role. Politics in Masvingo will surely look different based on what happens with this key job.
