Police arrested a Tanzanian man who tried to sneak crystal meth worth almost $1 million into Zimbabwe. Suleiman Amour, age 44, faced charges after officers stopped the truck carrying him. Two other people escaped from the same vehicle - these accomplices remain missing today. Amour went before Regional Magistrate Mrs Sibongile Marondedze at Western Commonage last Friday. His trial hasn't happened yet because the court needs someone who speaks Kiswahili. They rescheduled everything for April 7, when a translator can help. Prosecutor Milton Moyo explained that Amour entered Zimbabwe through Mozambique. He planned to travel onward to South Africa with his drug shipment. Police officers from Nkulumane Station caught him at a roadblock located 18 kilometers along the Bulawayo-Plumtree road last October 23. Frank Robert Mwakalinga drove the South African truck with Amour plus someone named O Bekwa inside. When police asked to look through the vehicle, Mwakalinga handed the keys to Amour, who opened the compartment. Officers noticed strange white lunch boxes hidden on the truck roof. Amour tried acting casual by taking one box, opening it, and eating spaghetti right there. The clever act failed when police kept searching anyway. They discovered 192 kilograms of methamphetamine worth $987,000 stuffed inside many lunch boxes throughout the secret space. Once Mwakalinga and Bekwa realized they were caught, they ran away fast, abandoning Amour at the scene. Police grabbed Amour immediately and continued hunting for the other suspects who escaped during that October roadblock inspection.
