Teachers want more money. They say they can't live with what they earn now.

Teacher groups wrote letters to the Government asking for help. No one answered them yet.

Robson Chere from the Rural Teachers Union thinks teachers earn very little money. "We worry because teachers make tiny amounts. We call these 'dog taxes' because they're small. We wrote many letters to the government. We tried talking with them, but they keep putting off fixing this problem. Our union will speak a language the government understands - action! We plan to use our rights to show we're unhappy until they fix this quickly."

The Zimbabwe Teachers Association agrees with other groups about meeting with the government. "Last year, we asked for $840. Before October 2018, we made $540. Our research shows teachers should earn more than $1000," said Godwill Taderera. His group wants the government to raise teacher pay step by step until it reaches at least $840 and then goes above $1000.
