People in Africa are worried. Fighting is occurring in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and it could spread to other countries. Two big groups will meet soon. They are the East African Community and the Southern African Development Community. They want to help stop the fighting. Things got worse after a break in the fighting ended. A group called M23 put new leaders in a city called Goma. This shows they want to keep the land they took. There are two plans to make peace. One is called the Angola Roadmap. The other is the Nairobi Peace Process. People are not sure which one will be used. Simon Mulongo knows a lot about security. He said Congo's President did not want to talk to armed groups before, but now M23 has political leaders, so maybe they can talk. Andrew Mwenda writes about news and politics. He asked who broke the peace deal. He said M23 and the government need to do more than talk to make peace. They have to show they mean it. Mr. Mulongo said the deal to stop fighting did not have clear rules, and no one said how long it would last. M23 says the new fighting is not all their fault. People are waiting to see what happens at the big meeting. Mr. Mwenda said the two big groups should not fight each other's wars. If Congo's President sees no one is coming to help, maybe he will take peace more seriously. Mr. Mulongo said if one group changes things too much, the other may do something back. Many people are watching to see what happens next. They hope it will bring peace to Congo, and what happens will matter to many countries.
