The First Night with the Duke tells the story of a college student who wakes up inside a romance novel. She finds herself living as a minor character and ends up spending time with the male lead. Seohyun and Ok Taec-yeon star as the main characters in this historical fantasy romance.

Viewers enjoy the fun storytelling and creative plot about changing a story from the inside. Both actors have received praise for their acting skills. The show faced some trouble before it aired because filming damaged a UNESCO World Heritage site. KBS apologized and removed all footage from that location.
