The California band formerly known as The Mae Shi has returned after 16 years away. They've changed their name to HLLLYH, assembled fresh members, and plan to release an album called URUBURU this June.

Tim Byron started this project intending to make the final Mae Shi record. He found old song ideas and tried bringing previous bandmates together. The creative period proved extremely productive - Byron created more music than one album could hold. Instead of ending The Mae Shi legacy, he decided to launch something new as HLLLYH. Fans will still hear some classic Mae Shi tracks during live shows.

Their first single, "Dead Clade," sounds similar to their earlier work with loud drums, complex guitar parts, and group vocals singing lines like "We're not special, we're just what's left." The upcoming album contains 15 tracks, including "Yellow Brick Wall," "Killer On The Edges," and "I'm Glad You're Alive."

URUBURU arrives June 27 through Team Shi Records. This marks an exciting comeback for musicians who last released a full album with 2008's HLLLYH, a colorful art-punk record many still enjoy today.
