Tributes Pour in for Liberation Fighter Shililifa

Heikky Shililifa passed away on December 16th. He was 81 years old. The government announced his memorial would be on Sunday. He will be buried on Monday.

Mr. Shililifa was born in a small village in 1942. The village is called Ohaumtsi. It is in the Ombalantu area.

He will be laid to rest in Onakayale Cemetery in the Omusati region. Many people are expected to attend his funeral.

Mr. Shililifa helped, especially during Namibia's fight for freedom. He provided key information to the People's Liberation Army, which was fighting to free the country.

Not long ago, in 2015, the president of Namibia honored Mr. Shililifa. President Hage Geingob gave him the country's highest award, which eight other people also received.

Mr. Shililifa had a big family. His wife and 12 children survive him. He also had 41 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Three of Mr. Shililifa's siblings are still alive. They will remember him, along with many others. He made a big impact during his long life.

The nation will say goodbye to him soon. People are thankful for all he has done over the years, and his legacy will live on.
