Trump's Department of Government Efficiency keeps looking at Social Security money. They checked where 1.6 trillion dollars went when paid out as benefits. The team wants every detail about who gets checks, when they were born, and how much money they make. All this comes from President Trump pushing harder against what he calls corruption across America. DOGE hasn't stopped at payment records, either. According to ABC News, they've examined the phone system people use when first applying for benefits. Acting Social Security boss Lee Dudek sent Congress a letter explaining exactly what his team found. Most lawmakers have supported Trump's deep dive into these payments since he returned to office last January. President Trump talks about Social Security problems almost every chance he gets. He promises Americans he'll find every penny that shouldn't have been spent. Elon Musk helps as a Senior Advisor by bringing tech know-how to the search. Both men tell everyone they found huge problems with millions of impossibly old people still listed as receiving benefits. Trump told both houses of Congress some crazy facts from government records. He mentioned finding over 130,000 people supposedly older than 160 years still getting Social Security money. The president joked about America having healthier citizens than he realized. He added that databases show 4.7 million recipients between 100 and 109 years old, plus another 3.6 million between 110 and 119. The president read similar strange findings from USAID back in February. He described the waste DOGE discovered as something nobody thought possible before. Trump estimated the total waste to be around hundreds of billions throughout government programs. During that speech, he called America very corrupt and promised citizens his team would figure everything out through careful investigation.
