Donald Trump says he plans to meet with Vladimir Putin. The U.S. President-elect wants to discuss the war in Ukraine with Russia's leader.
"Putin wants to meet and we are working on it," Trump told reporters at Fox News. Trump shared that Putin had made his wish for talks clear to the public.
The future president hopes to speak with Chinese leader Xi Jinping as well. Trump stated he wanted to hold talks with Putin within six months of starting his term.
However, Russia's spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, noted that the U.S. had not yet sent a formal request for such a meeting.
