Raphael Tuju sent a letter to Chief Justice Martha Koome on March 21, 2025, raising serious concerns about five Supreme Court Judges. The letter points out that these judges should protect the law, run fair trials, and defend the Constitution. Tuju thinks they're failing at these jobs. Tuju talked about the 2022 presidential case when Kenya almost fell into chaos. The judges used harsh words like "hot air" and "wild goose chase." He believes they should have talked more carefully since they do such important work and even dress like bishops. He claims the judges made things worse instead of better during tense times. Their words were like "pouring petrol into the fire." Tuju mentioned videos going around online showing four of seven judges talking nonsense when drunk. He asks how they can demand respect after behaving this way. Tuju warned that Kenya faces real dangers of becoming unstable. Three of the world's ten most failed countries belong to the East African Community. He listed problem areas such as Baringo, West Pokot, Turkana, Lamu, and Mandera. Kenya ranks just above Uganda but below Rwanda, Tanzania, and Zambia on political stability charts. Tuju compared the situation to the US Supreme Court's 1857 Dred Scott ruling that kept slavery legal and later caused the Civil War. He linked this to his current fight with the East African Development Bank over 27 acres of land in Karen. What started as a simple case has turned into a battle against five Supreme Court Judges. He says he bought the land legally and believes certain people hide behind the bank to attack him. Tuju accuses these judges of being unfair and repeatedly breaking court rules. In his letter, he asks Koome to step in and fix these serious problems.
