Sabah's head of state received formal designation as the next leader of Universiti Malaysia Sabah during a ceremony on Monday at Istana Seri Kinabalu. University officials stated the selection strengthens connections between state governance and academic institutions while elevating the campus as a hub for scholarly dialogue and creative development across East Malaysia. Tun Musa previously led Sabah as chief minister and held portfolios covering finance and served as university pro-chancellor.
