Tunisia beat Liberia by just 1-0. Madagascar crushed the Central African Republic 4-1. Cameroon failed to score against Eswatini, ending with a 0-0 tie. These games happened Wednesday as part of qualifying matches for the 2026 World Cup. Hazem Mastouri scored early to give Tunisia their victory in Monrovia. This win keeps Tunisia leading Group H with 13 points total. The Tunisian team found success at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Complex when Mastouri finished a play set up by Hannibal Mejbri just four minutes into the game. Tunisia almost scored again when Naïm Sliti hit the crossbar before halftime. Liberia controlled the ball more but couldn't break through Tunisia's strong defense. Goalkeeper Aymen Dahmen saved two big shots in the 37th and 41st minutes to protect their lead. The second half saw Tunisia defend well against pressure. They nearly scored again when Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane missed an easy chance late in the game. Tunisia faces Malawi next as Liberia prepares to play Sao Tome and Principe. Madagascar dominated their match against the Central African Republic. They won 4-1 and took first place in Group I. The Central Africans shocked everyone with an early goal scored by Gabon in the ninth minute of play. Captain Rayan Raveloson answered back with two goals before halftime. Madagascar added two more scores after the break. Their defense shut down any comeback attempts from their opponents. This big win boosts Madagascar's dreams of reaching their first World Cup ever. Cameroon faced disappointment after failing to beat last-place Eswatini. Despite having the ball most of the game, Cameroon couldn't find a way to score. This tie leaves Cameroon still on top of Group D with nine points from five games. Eswatini earned their first point of the tournament. Other Group D games were scheduled for Wednesday night as teams fight for spots in the 2026 World Cup. Tunisia and Madagascar strengthened their positions with these results. Cameroon must improve quickly to stay ahead in their group. Many other qualifying games happened across Africa Wednesday night as teams battled toward World Cup spots.
