Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that Turkiye will continue its efforts to help bring home the nine Malaysian activists detained by Israeli forces during the Freedom Flotilla Coalition and Thousand Madleens To Gaza (FFC x TTMG) humanitarian mission. Speaking at the ‘Himpunan Solidariti Bersama Gaza’ rally at Axiata Arena, Anwar shared a message from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, conveyed through his foreign minister, assuring Malaysia of continued assistance. Earlier, Foreign Minister Datuk Mohamad Hasan confirmed that Wisma Putra had contacted Turkiye and U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau to expedite the activists' release. According to Humanitarian Care Malaysia (MyCARE) chairman Datuk Seri Prof Dr Kamal Nasharuddin Mustapha, all nine vessels of the flotilla were seized illegally by Israeli forces. The detained Malaysians include eight on the Conscience vessel and one, Dr Maziah Muhammad, aboard the Umm Saad. Turkiye had previously assisted in securing the release of 23 activists detained during the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) mission.
