According to Humanitarian Care Malaysia (MyCARE) chairman Datuk Seri Prof Dr Kamal Nasharuddin Mustapha, all nine vessels of the flotilla were seized illegally by Israeli forces.

The detained Malaysians include eight on the Conscience vessel and one, Dr Maziah Muhammad, aboard the Umm Saad. Turkiye had previously assisted in securing the release of 23 activists detained during the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) mission.
