Italy bought more Ugandan coffee than any other country during April 2025. The European nation purchased 291,779 bags out of Uganda's total exports of 694,318 bags that month. Italy took 42 percent of all coffee shipped from Uganda. Germany came second with 11.3 percent and Spain ranked third at 7.46 percent. India, Sudan, Belgium and China also made large purchases.

Europe dominates Uganda's coffee trade with 71 percent of all exports going there. African countries bought 11 percent and Asian nations purchased 15 percent of the coffee. The remaining exports went to North America, Australia and Middle Eastern countries. Strong demand for Uganda's Robusta and Arabica beans drives European sales.

Uganda earned $1.97 billion from coffee exports between May 2024 and April 2025. The country shipped 7.17 million bags during that period. Turkey, Morocco and Algeria increased their coffee imports from Uganda. African nations bought 76,467 bags in April compared to 69,052 bags the previous month. Coffee exports grew significantly compared to the year before.
