The Uganda High Commission in the United Kingdom recently backed the creation of a new umbrella organization called the Uganda, Europe, United Kingdom Association. This fresh initiative brings together Ugandan groups throughout Britain and continental Europe to build stronger community bonds. The association focuses on creating unity beyond any political affiliations, religious beliefs, or tribal backgrounds. Members emphasize their dedication to making meaningful improvements for Ugandans living abroad. UEUKA plans to streamline collaborative efforts among different Ugandan communities across these regions. The organization intends to advocate for increased governmental assistance and deliver key services to expatriate Ugandans. By bringing people together despite their differences, the association hopes to benefit all Ugandans residing away from their homeland. The emphasis remains on practical outcomes rather than divisive factors. During the launch event, Ambassador Nimisha Madhvani spoke about the value of inclusion and community harmony. She stressed how Ugandan identity abroad should manifest through concrete actions. The High Commissioner noted that diverse traditions, languages, and artistic expressions represent significant advantages for Ugandan communities overseas. She encouraged members to participate actively in their home country's development journey. Madhvani further explained that her government fully supports community organizing, educational programs, advocacy work, and investment promotion. The administration also backs strategic partnerships and cultural exchanges through diaspora associations. At the gathering, Moses Mulimira received recognition for his contributions as the Global Health Partnerships Diaspora Engagement Advisor. His leadership of the Uganda UK Health Alliance has strengthened healthcare collaboration between both nations.
