The Patriotic League of Uganda plans a protest at Kenya's High Commission in Kampala next Wednesday. They are upset about a news story in The Standard newspaper that called General Muhoozi Kainerugaba a "Four-star brat." Muhoozi is President Museveni's son and serves as a top military leader. PLU leader Daudi Kabanda said The Standard was mean to Muhoozi, who heads the PLU. Kabanda said their protest would be "energetic." He claimed Kenya had burned Uganda's High Commission last year with no response from Uganda. But he warned they would respond strongly to this newspaper insult. The Standard wrote about Muhoozi's social media posts that caused problems between countries. The paper discussed how Muhoozi has gained power in Uganda's army and politics and criticized his online behavior and mistakes when dealing with other countries. The PLU held a similar protest recently. That time they were angry at Ugandan Parliament members who had criticized Muhoozi. The lawmakers wanted to ask Muhoozi questions about his social media comments and political statements, but he did not show up when asked to come. Kenya's government has not yet commented on the newspaper story, but people are arguing about it online. Some Ugandans want action against Kenya, but many Kenyans say newspapers should be free to print what they want.
