Uganda is telling its oil and gas contractors to stop thinking small and start chasing deals across Africa before production ramps up in 2027. Representatives from Namibia, Kenya, and Tanzania showed up at the National Content Conference in Kampala and basically said Ugandan firms should link up with local partners in their countries. Namibia runs an open licensing system where anyone can apply for acreage, and Tanzania requires foreign companies to team up with local businesses through joint ventures. Some Ugandan contractors are already working on both sides of the border for the East African Crude Oil Pipeline project.

The Petroleum Authority of Uganda has this Tenfold Strategy aimed at pulling around 5 billion dollars annually from oil exports once everything peaks. Officials said the real flex will be Ugandan companies winning contracts in other African markets and bringing back skills and cash to multiply the benefits at home.
