Former President Uhuru Kenyatta loves his life after leaving office. He talked about how great retirement feels when you step down at the right time. He laughed about having zero responsibilities these days. "Retirement life is good. There are no responsibilities; you just watch others on TV. They thought being a big person was work, but I can see they are seeing it for themselves," he said with a smile. Uhuru made these comments during a church service at St. Joseph's Cathedral in Meru County on Sunday. The special mass celebrated Bishop Jackson Murugara becoming the new Coadjutor Bishop of Meru. During his speech, Uhuru wished the Bishop success ahead and urged him to spread gospel messages and help lead Kenya forward. The former leader stressed that churches must protect both souls and lives. "We must save souls, but if you have no lives, you will have lost those souls. You, as the church, have a responsibility to ensure that our nation stays on the right path," Uhuru told the congregation. His words emphasized the church's role in national guidance. Several former officials joined Uhuru at the celebration. The group included Peter Munya, who served as Agriculture Cabinet Secretary, Florence Kajuju, who represented Meru as a Woman Representative, and George Kinoti, who headed the Criminal Investigations department. Bishop Murugara earned this appointment from the Vatican. Before his promotion, he ran the Consolata Shrine located in Nairobi's Westlands area.
