Former President Uhuru Kenyatta urged Kenyans to keep praying for their country and everyone who leads it. Kenyatta emphasized how much it matters when Kenyans pray for people running the government. At a Sunday Thanksgiving mass in St. Joseph's Cathedral located in Meru County, the former President shared his thoughts with the congregation. Everyone had gathered to celebrate Bishop Jackson Murugara, who recently became the Coadjutor Bishop of Meru. The special church service brought many faithful together to honor this important religious appointment. Kenyatta made sure to attend this significant event for the Catholic community. Kenyatta mentioned he wouldn't repeat previous statements because anyone listening had already heard them. He asked everyone to pray that leaders would open both their ears and hearts to hear what citizens truly need. During his talk, Kenyatta discussed life after the presidency, saying retirement benefits people most when they step away from their peak physical condition. When congratulating Bishop Murugara, Kenyatta expressed wishes for continued success in spreading religious teachings and healing souls. He added his hope that the Bishop would help guide Kenya in the right direction. The former president spoke about saving souls, stressing that without preserving lives, those souls might be lost. He reminded church leaders about their duty to keep the nation moving forward properly. Kenyatta acknowledged many people wrongly assume leadership comes easily. He clarified that guiding others requires tremendous effort and dedication. Several prominent figures accompanied Kenyatta to the celebration, including Peter Munya, who previously served as Agriculture Cabinet Secretary. Florence Kajuju, the former Meru Woman Representative, also attended the event. George Kinoti, who once headed the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, joined the former president as well. The gathering attracted many church members wanting to celebrate this important milestone. The Vatican recently appointed Bishop Murugara to his new position as Coadjutor Bishop. Before accepting this role, Murugara worked as a rector at the Consolata Shrine located in Westlands, Nairobi. His experience prepared him well for these new responsibilities. The Catholic community clearly showed their support through strong attendance at this special mass.
