Ms. Evelyn Edroma from the UNDP talked about how they want to help The Gambia have good elections. She said they will open another office this Saturday in Janjanbureh. The UNDP spent 4.3 million Gambian money to fix up the building and put in new equipment.

Ms. Edroma shared some important numbers about the people in The Gambia. Women make up more than half of everyone who lives there, and young people between 15 and 35 make up most of the country. She wants these groups to take part in voting and making decisions for their country.

Mr. Joseph Colley from the election office thanked the UNDP for their help. He explained that his team needed better buildings to do their work well. Many of their old offices did not have enough space or even clean water to use.

The UNDP fixed four election offices in different parts of The Gambia between 2021 and 2023. These offices are in Brikama, Kerewan, Mansakonko, and Basse. The new buildings helped the election team do a better job than the last time people voted. Mr. Colley feels happy that they can run good elections in the future with these improved offices.
