UPDF Troops Told to Keep Eyes Peeled for Threats

Uganda military leader Felix Busizoori asked retiring troops to stay disciplined after they leave service. He spoke to soldiers known as Batch 15 at the army headquarters in Gulu city. Busizoori thanked them for helping bring peace to Northern Uganda during hard times. He said their work made a difference for the country. These veterans served when Uganda needed them most.

Busizoori told the soldiers they would remain part of the reserve force even after retirement. If called upon, they might need to help with future missions. He warned against drinking too much alcohol because it harms health. He suggested they join veteran savings groups for financial help. The general also asked them to avoid causing political problems in their communities.

Army officials from several departments attended the meeting with the retiring soldiers. Col Samson Nabeeta came as the Division Administration Officer. Col Muwa Mawa represented the Reserve Force for the Acholi area. Staff from human resources departments also met with the veterans. Everyone worked to help soldiers prepare for life after military service.
