Kuoru Abu Diaka Sukabe Ninia (V) Submits Council of State Nomination. Kuoru Abu Diaka Sukabe Ninia (V) has submitted his nomination for Upper West Regional Representative to Ghana's Council of State. He is the Vice President of the Upper West Regional House of Chiefs and a member of the National House of Chiefs. Kuoro Nania (V) is the Paramount Chief and President of the Zini Traditional Area. He presented his nomination forms at the Upper West Regional office of the Electoral Commission on Friday, January 31, 2025. Dr. Kaayi Yakubu accompanied him. The chief is known for his strong stance against early child marriage. If elected, he pledged to represent the region's diverse perspectives and noted the developmental challenges the region faces. Kuoro Nania (V) is committed to working with the region's Minister and Members of Parliament. He aims to complete ongoing projects like the Zini E-Block SHS and address infrastructure needs at Dr. Hilla Limann Technical University and SDD-UBIDS. The chief is a former banker and accountant for Plan International Ghana. He plans to partner with the tourism department, local assemblies, civil society organizations, and the people of the Upper West Region. Kuoro Nania (V) envisions a bi-annual festival led by the Regional House of Chiefs. The festival would promote tourism, attract investors, create jobs, encourage tolerance, and promote peace. The Electoral Commission opened nominations for regional representatives to the Council of State on January 22, 2025, in accordance with Article 89(2)(c) of Ghana's 1992 Constitution. The elections will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2025, in various regional capitals.
