Vodacom South Africa opens applications for its 2026 Early Careers programmes focused on science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields. The telecommunications company wants to develop young talent and create job opportunities for students. Human Resources Director Njabulo Mashigo says digital technology changes how people work. The company invests money to help South African youth gain skills for the digital economy. These programmes encourage young people to pursue careers that promote innovation and diversity. The Discover Graduate Programme offers two years of training to shape future leaders. Graduates receive permanent jobs at Vodacom after finishing the programme. Last year 131 people joined the programme and 84 were women. The company also runs a 12-month internship for undergraduate and postgraduate students. During the past financial year 564 interns and learners participated and 72 had disabilities. Students can apply for the Academic Merit Bursary that helps them pay for college. The bursary supports first, second and third year students studying science and technology subjects. Vodacom has given 1,359 bursaries since 2014. The company awarded 173 bursaries during the 2025 financial year and 81 went to women. Code Like a Girl teaches coding skills to disadvantaged girls across Africa and 3,335 South African girls participated last year.
