Vice President Constantino Chiwenga and his sons joined the Roman Catholic guild at Harare's Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception on Sunday. The ceremony marked a key point in his faith journey.

Chiwenga's church ties are linked to his public service. He starts work early each day, citing his faith as a motivation for his duties.

His busy role limited regular church visits, but he kept his beliefs strong. "People did not see me much at church. I went when time allowed," he said.

The family often takes part in pilgrimages. Chiwenga plans to move through all guild stages, a system that helps members grow in faith through prayer and learning.

Father Mark Chikuni led the mass at St Gerrard Parish. He praised the Vice President's family for their church service.

Chiwenga said churches help build strong families, which leads to peace and unity—vital parts of the nation's growth.
