Wampler Debuts Cryptid Fuzz for Wild and Refined Tones

Wampler recently released their Cryptid Fuzz pedal for guitar players looking for many different fuzz sounds. This new pedal helps musicians create anything from smooth vintage tones to wild and unpredictable noises. Brian Wampler built this as a fresh design rather than copying old circuits. The pedal works well with any playing style, giving users lots of options to shape their sound.

Guitar players can use the Character control to fine-tune their fuzz exactly how they want it. Set it lower for warm, singing tones that sound more like distortion. Turn it higher to make broken, stuttering sounds similar to experimental pedals. The Chime switch adds three different levels of bright tones without making your guitar sound harsh. A separate Tight switch controls bass response, letting you choose between thick, heavy sounds or sharp cutting tones.

The Cryptid responds really well to how hard you play and adjusts when you change your guitar volume. Turn down your guitar and the pedal cleans up nicely for clear sounds. Play harder, and it drives into heavy fuzz territory. Wampler combined several types of electronics inside - transistors, FETs, and an operational amplifier stage - creating something completely different from standard fuzz pedals on the market today.

Musicians can use this pedal to sound like classic effects such as the Fuzz Face or Big Muff. It also works great as a smooth overdrive or even just to boost your signal without adding much color. The variety makes it useful for many musical styles instead of just one specific sound. Guitar players can buy the Wampler Cryptid Fuzz right away at music stores for $199.99.
